Atlantic Municipal Working Group: Online Meeting

The Atlantic Municipal Working Group is a resource for municipalities participating in QUEST Canada’s Pan-Atlantic Net-Zero Communities Accelerator (NCA) program cohort, and engaged in community energy planning, partnership-building and net-zero energy projects.

Here we share experiences, lessons learned and transfer knowledge about best practices. Participants are leaders in moving toward achieving provincial greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals and transitioning toward a net-zero future.

This meeting’s discussion: Community Engagement Strategies

• How engagement needs to shift once communities move toward implementation (beyond information-sharing).
• Ways to set up ongoing community-facing structures that help sustain implementation over time (e.g., advisory groups, champions, stewardship models).
• Lessons learned on connecting technical work (e.g., inventories, modeling, scenario work) to community priorities and decision points.
