Official Launch of the New Brunswick Smart Energy Communities Accelerator Program!

We’re pleased to announce the launch of the New Brunswick Smart Energy Communities Accelerator Program (NB SECA Program), designed to accelerate economic development and GHG emission reduction efforts in 10 communities, including one First Nation in New Brunswick.

Reflections on a Benchmark for Indigenous Community Energy Planning

QUEST and the CIER have identified that a Benchmark — a tool that assesses a community’s energy practices and processes relative to Canadian best practices — is not the best way to support energy planning and projects in Indigenous communities.

What is hindering Canada’s ability to achieve net-zero? It might not be what you think.

The invisibles of net-zero – institutional innovation, political will, capacity and people – are the accelerants that will help or hinder our ability to meet our economic and climate change objectives.

What our clients say

"QUEST's approach and support were definitely up to our expectations. The municipality was able to obtain relevant, realistic, achievable and measurable recommendations. The recommendations allow us to have the necessary tools for their implementation"

Daniel Hachey, Director General

Regional Municipality of Tracadie

“We now have a clear idea of the impacts of climate change in our community and what needs to be done to improve the resilience of our infrastructure and services.”

Ken Anthony, CAO

Town of Woodstock, New Brunswick

“The project delivered by QUEST resulted in an increased knowledge and capacity building for staff and Council on the climate impacts in the community, including services provided by the City. It also increased the collaboration among the various departments and community stakeholders, and enabled the City to augment its Emergency Management Plans thanks to proposed recommendations.”

Samir Yammine, Manager of Asset and Energy Management

The City of Saint John, New Brunswick

“QUEST brought concrete and interactive tools and knowledge that proved invaluable for communities in the north in the development of their community energy plans. Their mapping exercise facilitated conversations between different stakeholder groups that may not have happened otherwise.”
