Electricity Self Supply and Export

QUEST respectfully submits that there is justification for requiring generators to offer into the power pool the portion of generated energy exported to the grid. However, requiring that all generated energy, both exported and consumed onsite, to the power pool introduces punitive costs on those prepared to make investments in Alberta’s energy sector, impacting proper sizing of projects and economies of scale, and ultimately making it harder for businesses to remain competitive.
