Driving Innovation: The Role of Electric Vehicles in Economic Development
Please join Danielle Wiess, Director of Transportation Initiatives with the Community Energy Association (CEA) for The Role of Electric Vehicles in Economic Development – A Case Study on the Peaks to Prairies Initiative.
Danielle will present on The Peaks To Prairies EV Charging Network, a project facilitated by the Community Energy Association alongside Southgrow Regional Initiative and Alberta Southwest Regional Alliance, pioneers the adoption of electric vehicles across Southern Alberta.
By interlinking Canmore, Medicine Hat, Waterton, and the Crowsnest Pass with an extensive network of charging stations, this initiative promises to drive regional economic growth, foster connectivity, and spotlight the region’s commitment to renewable energy.
About the speaker:
As CEA’s Director of Transportation Initiatives, Danielle Wiess supports local, regional and Indigenous governments with envisioning and implementing low-carbon transportation solutions. Be it micro or electric mobility, encouraging active transportation, or electric vehicle charging infrastructure and networks. She is currently leading implementation of two regional electric vehicle charging networks in British Columbia and is leading network design and funding applications for regions in Northern Alberta and Southern Ontario.
