Learn more about the Meadow Lake Tribal Council Bioenergy Centre Project
Join Tina Rasmussen in a webinar about the Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) Bioenergy Centre, Saskatchewan’s pioneering green energy biomass project led by the MLTC.
The Bioenergy Centre is a landmark initiative combining environmental stewardship with thermal efficiency to enhance the economic outcomes for the nine member-First Nations. This project not only supports the province’s shift towards renewable energy but also sets a precedent for community-led sustainable development.
By leveraging biomass residuals from the NorSask sawmill, the Bioenergy Centre produces carbon-neutral power and significant environmental benefits. These include reducing the carbon intensity of the SaskPower grid, cutting natural gas usage, and eliminating harmful particulate matter emissions.
This session will delve into how this innovative project fosters regional economic growth, supports local communities, and promotes a sustainable future for the Indigenous youth and families of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council.
