QUEST Welcomes Emily Cormier to the Team!
Join us in welcoming Emily Cormier, QUEST’s new Program Manager, Smart Energy Community Accelerator!
“QUEST is thrilled to have Emily join our team,” said Tonja Leach, QUEST, Executive Director. “Emily brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team with her background working with both municipalities and a utility company and we look forward to working with Emily on the development and scaling up of our Smart Energy Community Accelerator program.”
Directeur exécutif, QUEST
Emily will be managing all components of QUEST’s inaugural Smart Energy Community Accelerator Program, which will be entering into a pilot stage in New Brunswick later this year. This project will help several New Brunswick municipalities implement energy action plans to adopt clean technologies and integrate renewable energy to support continued growth and a green economy.
Emily is an energy management and sustainability professional with over 8 years of experience in the Canadian private, public and non-profit sector, predominantly in Northern Ontario. Prior to joining QUEST, she worked for the City of Sault Ste. Marie where she successfully developed the City’s Community Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.
Emily has also worked on large commercial and industrial energy conservation and demand management projects in Northwestern Ontario for Synergy North. Additionally, she also led the development of the Wawa Municipal Energy Plan and 5-Year Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan, for the Municipality of Wawa, which won the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) Community Project of the Year Award in 2017.
“Energy and sustainability planning are a key pillar in Canada’s low-carbon future, and I truly believe that a Smart Energy Community approach is critical to reaching community, energy and emission goals,” said Emily. “I joined QUEST to be part of the solution for helping communities bring their energy and emission plans to implementation.”
